Jaded by surfeit
Seeking a lost cause
A smile in the darkness
To put a glow in my heart
A feel in my soul
And a song to my lips

Am jaded by surfeit
But not quite yet
For there is still an incomplete poetry
And words unspoken
But am seeking a lost cause

Am now one of the fabled Ronin
A warrior with no cause
A lover without a love
A singer without a ballad
But am seeking a lost cause
To bring a song to my lips

She walks away with the light
The light from my heart
And as I hear her humming now
It brings a smile to my eye
Which crowds up the tear
As I seek a lost cause
To put a glow in my heart
And bring a song to my lips

Walk away my sweet
May the best go with you
You have taken the best of me
So come get the rest of me
But in the back of my head I know…..
